St Matyás

Just a quick summary of what we did today, since Im going to bed in a minute.

We started off the day in Buda at St. Matyás church. Matyás is widely considered the best king in Hungary's history, and the influence of him and his family is visible all ober the city, largely in the form of their crest (a raven with a ring in its beak.)

After this we grabbed some lunch, and I grabbed some spiced apple cider. Yum.

It was raining all day, by the way. Though not very hard until the end when it actually started getting persistant.

We then went on to castle hill, to bisit a really old and beautiful castle. I really liked their gate.

Andrea and Gerd are now both huge advocates of the selfie stick.

The castle was beautiful, and though we didnt get to learn a whole lot about it seeing as the myseum was closed for Monday, it was still pretty easy to tell that it was pretty heavily influenced by the crusades. Everything here seems to have very strong roots in austrian influence, catholicism and the crusades. The presence of controversially strong Muslim influence is very interesting as well.

Finally we found our way through the rain to the hot spring, where we unwound for a bit before returning to the hostel, and grabbing some pizza (we've been walking all dayc we need the carbs.)

Tomorrow we're going to possobly go to the opera and some cafe. Ill let you know!
